This past weekend, residents of Wilton and the surrounding area celebrated Senior Community Day. More than 40 exhibitors provided information about area opportunities for senior citizens. Thanks goes to the members of the Senior Community Day Planning Committee:

Book discussion

Barbara Jones from the Wilton Library has prepared a wonderful reading series for the coming year at the senior center. Each session begins at 11 on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Lunch ($3) is served at noon. Call 203-834-6240 to reserve a place.

Photo workshop

Bill Brautigam will present a Picasa Photo Workshop Thursday, Sept. 26, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Comstock Computer Learning Center. Google’s free Picasa software lets you organize, edit, and upload your photos in quick, easy steps, and then share them. The fee is $20. Register at 203-762-8445.

Medicare Part D

This year, open enrollment for Medicare Part D begins Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 7. On Thursday, Nov. 7, representatives from the Southwestern Connecticut Agency on Aging will be at the senior center meeting with individuals regarding the Medicare Part D prescription drug program.
