Three Connecticut universities earned spots on a recent ranking of the best universities in the world. A new study\u00a0by the Center for World University Rankings pitted 1,000 of the globe's top schools against each other, ranking them by the quality of education and faculty, as well as alumni employment. The methodology also looked at the number of pending international patents and research papers published to better measure the college's broad impact and influence around the world. Yale came in at 11th behind the University of Chicago.\u00a0UConn also made the list at number 193.\u00a0Wesleyan University\u00a0ranked 871st\u00a0but made the top 200 nationally, scoring high for its alumni employment. Three U.S. universities took the top spots: Harvard, Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The University of Cambridge, and the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom ranked 4th and 5th, respectively.
