Our legislative process works best when citizens participate. I want to thank the residents of the 143rd district for their exceptionally active participation in our representative government. Everything I do as your state representative starts with you. Your ideas, views, and concerns shape my priorities and my decisions. They are the essential guideposts for my work, because I do it all on your behalf. Over the last several years, I’ve met thousands of people in our district. I’ve visited you individually at your homes, met with you in large and small groups, corresponded with you, and spent time with you at local events. I’ve made it a point to keep you informed about developments in our state that affect you, your families, and our towns, and I’ve often actively sought your feedback. I’m grateful that so many of you have taken the time to share your questions and concerns and to discuss at length with me the issues that really matter to you. You have invited me into your homes to talk with your families. You have voiced meaningful observations at public meetings. You have sent me detailed correspondence. You have provided persuasive testimony at public hearings in Hartford and elsewhere. On complex and controversial issues, you have let me know where you stand. It is a pleasure to serve people who are so articulate and forthcoming and take such an active role. It is a privilege to be your advocate, and I would be honored to continue to serve. Ms. Lavielle represents the 143rd state House district, which includes parts of Wilton, Norwalk and Westport.
