While the Wilton Democratic Town Committee (DTC) has endorsed Deborah McFadden in her quest to become first selectman, the Republican Town Committee (RTC) is expected to announce its candidate at a meeting Wednesday evening, July 22, 7:30, at Trackside.
The RTC does not caucus when it selects candidates. Only members of the committee may nominate a candidate and only members may vote. The committee has 40 members.
The DTC does caucus, meaning all registered Democrats are invited to attend its meeting, also on July 22, at 7:30 p.m., in the town hall annex.
Both town committees have solicited candidates and their nominating committees  have prepared rosters of potential candidates.
In addition to first selectman, the ballot on Nov. 3 will include choices for:
• Selectmen;
• Board of Finance;
• Board of Education;
• Board of Assessment Appeals;
• Planning and Zoning Commission;
• Zoning Board of Appeals;
• Constables.
Check The Bulletin website, WiltonBulletin.com, for a report on the outcome of both meetings.
