Lavielle gains two endorsements The CT Business and Industry Association (CBIA) -\u00a0Connecticut's largest business organization - has endorsed state Rep. Gail Lavielle (R-143) for re-election because of her commitment to "promoting an environment where companies can compete, attract much-needed investment to our state, and drive economic growth and job creation," according to CBIA's president and CEO, Joseph F. Brennan. "To restore our economy and make Connecticut competitive as a place to do business, we must listen to business owners and executives who tell us that what they need most to grow and create jobs are a reduction in their ongoing structural costs, and, above all, consistent, reliable tax and regulatory policy," Lavielle said in a press release. "Economic development policies that are based primarily on singling out individual companies for one-time giveaways have dismissed that feedback. We must help all businesses -\u00a0not just a few - thrive by creating a climate that gives them confidence that Connecticut is a place where they can invest and make long-term business plans." Lavielle also won the endorsement of The Sierra Club, the largest and oldest environmental grassroots group in the country for her "proven track record in environmental issues," according to Ann Gadwah, political chair of the club's Connecticut chapter. "I will continue to fight for initiatives that protect our open space, conserve precious natural resources, and keep our air and water clean and safe. As always, I will be attentive to ensuring that these initiatives are undertaken within a framework of sound fiscal discipline," Lavielle stated in a press release.
