Wilton’s state representatives — Gail Lavielle (R-143) and Tom O’Dea (R-125) will likely run unopposed in November. Wilton Democratic Town Committee Chair Deborah McFadden told The Bulletin there will be no Democratic candidates challenging the two Republican incumbents.

Lavielle, who lives in Wilton, was first elected in 2010, and was re-elected in 2012 and 2014. O'Dea, of New Canaan, was elected to his first term in 2014 and was re-elected in 2014.

It is also not likely the Democrats will field a candidate to run against state Senator Toni Boucher (R-26). The Wiltonian has held this position since 2008.

It is possible there could be a petitioning candidate for one of the races, but the Wilton Registrars of Voters office has not heard of anyone seeking to get on the ballot. Aug. 10 is the deadline for submitting petitions.
