Legislative priorities

Gail Lavielle (R-143) at the Capitol on Feb. 19. The men were among more than 40 YMCA executives and board members who joined seven legislators for a Legislative Priorities Breakfast meeting to discuss YMCA initiatives. Topics reviewed were work YMCAs are doing to promote early childhood education in collaboration with the state’s newly created Office of Early Childhood, the establishment of nutritional guidelines in licensed preschools to address the prevention of childhood obesity, and the incorporation of ASHI lifeguard CPR certification standards into state statutes.
