Boucher, Lavielle get 'green" approval
Wilton State Rep. Gail Lavielle (R-143) and State Senator Toni Boucher (R-26) were among the 27 candidates running for office who were endorsed by the bipartisan Connecticut League of Conservation Voters. The league announced the endorsements last Friday, Aug. 10.
“All endorsed candidates must be committed to protecting Connecticut’s land, water, air and wildlife, and to working for sustainable solutions to pressing state issues like transportation, energy, and waste management,” the league said in a press release.
The league endorsed 22 Democrats and five Republicans.
Every election year, the league surveys candidates on their positions, records, and plans for protecting the environment. The league also interviews candidates as appropriate and reviews incumbents’ voting records. Only candidates who have responded to the survey will be considered for endorsement. Survey responses may be viewed online at ctlcv.org/2012-candidate-responses.html.
