Police: Newtown man arrested after buying liquor with fake ID
NEWTOWN — A 20-year-old resident was arrested last week for allegedly using fake identification to purchase liquor.
Adrian Ajdinoski, of Greenbriar Lane, was arrested on Church Hill Road last Wednesday after police say he used a fake ID to purchase four 24-ounce cans of Twisted Ice Tea.
He was busted by officers participating in S.U.D.S. Patrol, a police detail in which “officers are assigned to monitor various liquor stores in town in an effort to deter underage drinking,” said Lt. Aaron Bahamonde.
“This program has been going on for many years, and has resulted in the arrest of both minors and vendors in the past,” Bahamonde said.
Ajdinoski was charged with using a driver’s license to misrepresent his age in order to obtain liquor and procuring liquor last week, both of which are misdemeanor charges.
Bahamonde said Ajdinoski was “very cooperative with police during the process.”
He was released on $100 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 12, at state Superior Court in Danbury.
