DANBURY — Investigators continue to investigate a serious crash over the weekend that landed two drivers in the hospital, police said Monday.

Officers responded to a call for a serious collision in the area of White Turkey Road Extension and Riverview Drive around 7:50 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

The preliminary police investigation indicated that a 2012 Nissan Altima was headed south on White Turkey Extension when a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta going north tried to turn left, “crossing into the opposing lane, striking the Altima,” police said.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Danbury Hospital with injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Traffic Unit.

Anyone with information is asked to call 203-797-2157.
