Steven J. Peeters, 55, died peacefully with his family by his side on Oct. 14, 2016. He was born Oct. 22, 1960, in Queens, N.Y. He was a 1978 graduate of Wilton High School. He received his bachelor of science degree from Bryant University and his master\u2019s of business administration in finance from the University of Connecticut. His career started in Connecticut with Hartford Financial Services. He later went to Zurich North America in Baltimore, Md., until moving to Ponte Vedra, Fla., in 2005 and working with Zurich Insurance Services as president and chief operating officer. In 2010 he moved to Main Street America Group, becoming executive vice president and chief operating officer. Early this year, Am Cap Insurance brought him in as president. Peeters volunteered much of his time with youth sports programs, including soccer, basketball and lacrosse. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Peeters, children Jamie Peeters of Tallahassee, Cari Peeters of Jacksonville and Rob Peeters of Ponte Vedra, father Robert Peeters, mother and stepfather, Mary Ann and J. Robert Flagg, brother Douglas Peeters, and many other loving family members. He was predeceased by his brother Lawrence Peeters. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 21, in Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra.
