Beverly J. Whitfield Sear, 76, of Trumbull, wife of Robert Sear, died peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 at Bridgeport Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Los Angeles, Calif. on Nov. 16, 1938, she was a daughter of the late George and Minnie Pounder Whitfield. Mrs. Sear enjoyed painting, cooking and spending time with her family at their home in Vermont. \u201cBut above all she enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all,\u201d her family said. Mrs. Sear was predeceased by her daughter, Sherry Tolmich. In addition to her husband of 54 years, Robert, survivors include two sons, Steven Sear of Johnstown, N.Y. and Scott Sear of Wilton, son-in-law, Steven Tolmich of Norwalk, six grandchildren, Juliette, Molly, Robin and Becky Sear and Ryan and Allyson Tolmich, a sister, Norah Collins of California, as well as several nieces and nephews. At Mrs. Sear\u2019s request all funeral services were private. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association of Connecticut, 45 Ash Lane, East Hartford, CT 06108.
