Angela Conte Somma died peacefully at home in Norwalk surrounded by her family Thursday, July 25. The cause of death was cancer. She was 39 and the wife of Carmelo Somma. Ms. Somma was born in Basel, Switzerland on May 4, 1974, the daughter of Mario and Anna Iacono Conte of Norwalk and originally from Ischia, Italy. She has lived in the area since 1977. Ms. Somma received an associate\u2019s degree from Gibbs College in Norwalk and worked for Stew Leonard\u2019s, the Alea North America Group and most recently was the attendance secretary at Wilton High School. \u201cAngela touched the lives of many people and will be dearly missed,\u201d her family said. In addition to her husband and parents, Ms. Somma is survived by three daughters, Stefania and twins Alessandra and Alessia Somma, her brother Giuseppe Conte and his wife Katie DeFlorio Conte, her mother and father-in-law Cono and Giulia Chiappardi Somma, all of Norwalk. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law Pasquale Somma and his wife Olga of Norwalk; Maria Somma Puddu and her husband Cesello, Rose Somma DiChio and her husband Giuseppe, Giovanna Somma and David Francese, all of Italy; Franco Somma of Norwalk and Marcella Iacona Somma of Norwalk; and many nieces, nephews aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 1, at 10, at St. Philip Church, 1 Fr. Conlon Place, Norwalk, with entombment to follow at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk. The family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk on Wednesday, July 31, from 4 to 8.
