Reonilda Ann Paglialungo Zandri died on Aug. 18, 2015 in Midlothian, Va., after a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. She celebrated her 98th birthday on July 28.
She was born in New Canaan at the family home on Summer Street in 1917. She was the last surviving of eight children.
She was predeceased by her husband, Silvio W. Zandri, and survived by her children, Patricia Zandri Dixon Donovan of Colchester, Vt., and Lee Zandri of Moseley, Va., and grandchildren, Stephen Dixon of North Hero, Vt., Brenda Dixon Dunlap of Weston, Dawn Dixon Perry of Colchester, Vt., and Sara Zandri of Moseley, Va.; alos by nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, as well as several cousins in Wilton.
Known as Ronnie, she was a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and was active with the senior center. “We will forever cherish all the family gatherings, and especially her love of cooking and baking. Her kindness and generosity will never be forgotten,” her family said.
Per her request, she will be cremated, and laid to rest next to her husband. A memorial service will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester, Vt.
