William Bernard Seebeck, a former Wilton resident who was recently of Northampton, Mass., died on Sunday, Dec. 13. He was 65.
Mr. Seebeck and his family lived on Wolfpit Road from 1993 to 2000.
He was born in San Francisco, to the late Margaret (Symonds) Seebeck and John Seebeck, and when he was 3 his family moved to Midland Beach, Staten Island, N.Y. He attended St. Margaret Mary School and graduated from Monsignor Farrell High School. At 17, he was named Outstanding Catholic Youth in America by the CYO. He attended Manhattan College and worked for the Nixon and Ford administrations.
Mr. Seebeck worked for many years in Manhattan for W.R. Grace, LexisNexis, and Ziff Davis, which took him to the Middle East. Later he started his own company and become a pioneer in electronic payment processing. He studied at Union Theological Seminary and became a deacon in the Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his sons, Christopher and his wife, Joanne, of Cohasset, Mass., and Matthew of Stamford; sisters, Eileen White of Sugarloaf, Pa., and Margaret Buxbaum of Florida; his aunt, Eileen Sibert of Toms River, N.J., and North Sutton, N.H.; and his grandchildren, Margaret, Jared and Nolan.
Visiting hours at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton (173 North Street, Northampton, Mass.) will be held on Friday, Dec. 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 14 Boltwood Avenue, Amherst, Mass. Burial in Old Main Street Cemetery in New Hampshire will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Fisherhouse.org.
