Obituary: Sally Ritchie, 65

Sally Pridham Ritchie, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, in Atlanta, Ga., surrounded by her husband, son, and close friends. She was born to Worth R. Pridham and M. Josephine (Bedell) Pridham on Febr. 20, 1952, in Portsmouth, N.H. Sally was a 1970 graduate of Trapp Academy High School in Kittery, Maine, attended Ricker College, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with a double major in French and Spanish, and received a Master of Education degree from the University of Maine majoring in psychology and classroom education.

Sally returned to Trapp Academy in 1974 as a language teacher for nine years when she left the school to marry her husband, Robert Ritchie from Northport, N.Y. Her move to Long Island was met with a teaching position at the prestigious Chaminade High School in Mineola, N.Y., a top all-boys Catholic School. After eight years, Sally and Bob, along with their son Bradford, moved to Wilton, Conn. After a short stint at St. Luke’s School in New Canaan, Conn., where she chaired the language department, she embarked on a 25-year real estate career, being awarded many sales recognitions. She moved to Peachtree City, Ga., with her husband in June of this year.

Sally has made many friends in all walks of her life and her honest approach to life brings with it a sense of trust and confidentiality. She harbored a wicked sense of humor that was able to see the ridiculous in the ridiculous. Over her time in Wilton, she was active in the Wilton Woman’s Club, the Wilton Garden Club, the Wilton Y Wahoos swim program, and the Wilton Warriors High School swim program, making good friends along the way.

She is survived by her husband Bob of Peachtree City, Ga., their son Bradford and Partner Kane French of Bonita Springs, Fla., her brother and sister-in-law Rodney and Sheri Pridham of Kittery, Maine, and nephew Darin Pridham of Biglerville, Pa.

For those who would like to remember Sally with a gift, the family suggests a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

A casual memorial service will be held at the Wilton Old Town Hall on Aug. 12, at 11 a.m., to celebrate Sally’s life.
