Ryozo Sato, 81, of Wilton, husband of the late Aiko Sato, died Oct. 19, 2016, at home.
He was born Jan. 3, 1935, in Kisakata, Japan, son of the late Sukesaburo and Hatsue Sato, and had lived in Wilton for the past 38 years. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute where he received his master’s degree in chemical engineering.
Mr. Sato was a chemical engineer for Crawford & Russell for 20 years, moving to General Electric for an additional 15 years until his retirement.
He enjoyed the Japanese strategy game Go, chess, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by his three sons, Akira Sato of Simsbury; Gene Sato of Wilton; Makoto Sato of Alna, Maine; his daughter Atsuko Dy-Johnson of Sunnyvale, Calif.; one sister in Japan; and nine grandchildren. The family held a private service.
