
Joseph Frank Oleksy, 96, of Wilton, husband of the late Elizabeth Hruncak Oleksy, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 at Wilton Meadows Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 28, 1918 in Swoyersville, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph and Victoria Antos Oleksy.
Mr. Oleksy served in the Army during World War II. He later worked for G.E. for 39 years. He loved gardening and woodworking around his home as well as listening to his favorite teams on the radio.
He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Bianco and her husband Hank of Wilton; by his granddaughter Victoria Bianco of Charlotte, N.C. and grandson Joseph Bianco of Wilton; by his sister Alice Yurchision of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Norwalk. Burial with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
