Barnett Harris, retired lithographic consultant

Barnett Harris passed away on March 12, 2014. He was 104 1/2 years old.

Mr. Harris was born on October 15, 1909 in New York City. He retired after 42 years being associated with Colonial Lithograph Corp. as an estimator and production manager. Prior to that, he was associated with Fairfield Lithograph Corp. of Stamford, Ct., New Era Lithograph and Polygraphic Corp. of America in New York.

Known as Ben Harris in the graphic arts industry, he taught evening courses of Estimating and Production at the former New York Trade School and at the Amalgamated Photo Lithographers Union #1 in New York City. He was the funding chairman of the Graphic Art Division for the Police Athletic League of New York during the administration of Mayor John Lindsay.

He leaves 3 children: 2 daughters; Marilyn F. Goldstein of Vermont, Janet C. Rubenstein of Nevada; and a son, Robert L. Harris of Florida. He has 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandsons. He is also survived by 2 sisters.
