Letter: Wilton has 71 new voters

To the Editors:

The Wilton registrars of voters wish to thank the League of Women Voters, the high school administration, and our staff for helping 71 students to become new voters. Each year our office holds a two-day registration drive during lunch periods where application cards are distributed, identification is checked, and information about absentee voting is shared. This year our volunteers were Deputy Registrars Kim Nabulsi and Joan Starr, along with League of Women Voters members Carol Ball, Sibylle Kinley, Lisa Somers, and Heather Wilcauskas.

Voter registration cards are available at the entry kiosk at the front of the high school for any student who will turn 18 on or before the next Election Day, Nov. 4, 2014. The forms are also available on the Wilton town website, wiltonct.org, along with material about absentee voting. Students who have registered to vote and will be 18 by May 6, 2014, are welcome to vote in the upcoming Annual Town Meeting.

Also, don’t forget you now are able to register online, if you have a current and valid driver’s license, learner’s permit or non-driver photo identification card issued by the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and a signature on file with DMV. Go to the secretary of the state’s website, voterregistration.ct.gov, to register online.
