Letter: Thank you for caring
To the Editors:
Stamp Out Hunger 2016, organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers, was an unqualified success. We received nearly 16,000 pounds of donated food, which is being used to stock the Person-to-Person Food Pantry in Norwalk.
We are most grateful to the Wilton Letter Carriers for collecting the donations along their postal routes and for the assistance of retired USPS employee Alan Horowitz in coordinating this event, and to the people of Wilton, we thank you for the donations.
The summer months bring a higher demand for food as many P2P clients are faced with providing three meals a day to their children who, during the school year, receive free or reduced meals so this additional inventory is very important.
On behalf of the families in the Greater Norwalk Area who will benefit from your generosity, thank you for caring.
