Letter: Stroll opens Wilton holiday season

To the Editors:

The Wilton Chamber of Commerce officially kicked off the holiday season at its annual Holiday Stroll, which was held on Friday, Dec. 5. Threatening skies and a challenging weather report did not dampen the spirits of hundreds of families gathered in Wilton Center for holiday cheer and a visit from Santa Claus.

Wilton residents were invited to stroll through town, which was decorated with festive lights, red bows and Joy banners, and visit the many merchants as they opened their doors for holiday cheer, special treats and shopping. St. Nick greeted children at Wilton Library with a little help from the Fairfield County Chorale, as they provided the soundtrack for the night. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported the annual Stroll, especially Lucci Electric for assisting with the annual lighting of the tree and Wilton Library for their warm hospitality.

As the holiday season is now upon us, I encourage each of you to use this opportunity to support the local businesses that support our vibrant and thriving town every day of the year. Shopping Wilton keeps our neighborhoods safe, stabilizes home values, and grows the economic base of our town. It takes each of us to start the trend, and it takes all of us to commit to this investment in our community.

On behalf of the Wilton Chamber of Commerce, I wish you and your family the very best during this season of celebration.
