To the Editors:
Stay at Home in Wilton will be soon be celebrating its fifth year in our community. We are committed to helping seniors remain in their homes by offering a range of services, including providing transportation, advising members who have home maintenance issues, and enriching the lives of members through fun, social activities.
We operate successfully only with strong support from the Wilton community. To help with transportation, we are seeking persons to drive seniors for essential trips to doctor appointments and shopping in Wilton and nearby towns.
Regarding home maintenance support, we are seeking people who can advise and assist our members who have smaller (but still important) problems within their homes. Examples of smaller jobs include helping a member install a window air conditioner, minor adjustments in toilet flush mechanisms and small appliance repairs. Larger home maintenance problems in such areas as plumbing, painting, roofing and electrical will, of course, call for a tradesman (licensed and insured) with an appropriate background.
If you are able to help us, please call our Executive Coordinator Janet Johnson at 203-762-2600. Not only will you feel good about assisting others, but you will also get to know some fascinating people.
Thank you for your continuing support.
