Letter: Scouts thank wreath sale supporters

To the Editors:

We would like to thank all of the Wilton townspeople who supported the Boy Scout Troop 125 Holiday Wreath Sale fund-raising efforts this year!

The troop would like to especially thank our special Wilton business friends — the Village Market and Orem’s Diner — who graciously welcomed us and allowed us to sell wreaths at their stores.

Through your kind support, the Scouts raised money to help fund camping trips, purchase new equipment and attend leadership development courses during the scouting year.

The troop collected donations used to decorate the Veterans Memorial Green with Scout wreaths, at a ceremony attended by members of American Legion, First Selectman Lynne Vanderslice, State Rep. Gail Lavielle, and State Sen. Toni Boucher. The troop also purchased more than 75 wreaths, that have been placed on the graves of servicemen and servicewomen laid to rest in Wilton’s Hillside Cemetery.

As you drive through our town this season, please view the Veterans Memorial Green and reflect on the blessings we have.

Boy Scout Troop 125 wishes you and your family, peace and joy and a safe holiday season.
