Letter: Post 86 thanks Wilton community
To the Editors:
To the Wilton community, the members of Post 86 would like to extend our sincere appreciation for the support of all of you this past year. One of the missions of the American Legion is to serve children and youth, veterans and their families and the community as a whole.
The support of Boy Scout Troops 125 and 20, Cub Scout Pack 22, Brownie Troop 50734 helped Post 86 with indoor/outdoor cleanup at our building and our annual American Flag Retirement ceremony. You are the future of this great country, and it is indeed a sunny forecast.
Middlebrook School, Wilton High School, and Our Lady of Fatima students and staff were involved in flag etiquette classes, our essay contest, Captain Sam Polis Scholarship, School Award program and Veterans Day. You should all take pride in your words, actions and skills, you have a bright future ahead of you.
The Wilton Library, Village Market, and Taylor Rental are always there when a holiday or Post event rolls around, to advertise, or help us with food or equipment needs. Our deepest appreciation and gratitude.
To the heroes of the Wilton Fire and Police Departments, between attending parades, Post events, Toys for Tots, you are the best at what you do.
To this very newspaper, The Wilton Bulletin, for covering all we do. Without you folks, especially Jeannette, we would have to post someone outside with a sandwich board to get the word out!
Finally, the community as a whole by showing your support by merely stopping by for coffee, looking at our archives and visiting us at the Center Street Sale day, Halloween Walk, the Christmas Stroll. We thank and welcome each and every one of you. Here’s to an even better and healthier 2019, Wilton!
