Letter: Objects of Desire a success thanks to many

To the Editors:

The Wilton Historical Society’s new fund-raising event, Objects of Desire: Style for the Garden and Home, was a gratifying success! It would not have happened without the support of many sponsors, patrons, the society's board, members, volunteers and community participation.

The show committee — Bill Brennan, Ann Duffy, Janet Foster, Mary Gail Gristina, Michael Hess, Dottie Jankowski, Rebecca Lin, and Co-Directors Kim Mellin and Allison Sanders — created a marvelous new show. The design committee, chaired by Phillip Thomas, included Susan DiLoreto, Angela Lowy, Jane Schapiro and Barbara Schmidt. The fabulous preview party was put together by Barbara Massy Bear, Hisku Durden, Janet Foster, Lori Fusco, Suzanne Knutson, Jennie MacGregor, Andrea McLaughlin, Nan Merolla, Margaret Ogdon and Katy Williams and served with flair by Barcelona.

We are grateful for our major sponsors, including: media sponsor CTC&G, Chubb, The Connecticut Group, Fairfield County Bank, TD Bank, RBC Wealth Management, Tile & Texture, Phillip Thomas Inc., Rob Sanders Architects, New Canaan Wine Merchants, Duble & O’Hearn and Wilson Properties. Thanks also to Barcelona, Stamford Tent, BMW of Ridgefield, Glengate, Visnapuu Design, Home Décor and More, Katie Kinsley Photography, and the Wilton Garden Club. Thank you for helping the society fund its mission: shining a light on the making and meaning of history through telling Wilton’s stories and historic preservation.
