Letter: Library sale is the work of many
To the Editors:
With much appreciation and gratitude to many, the Wilton Library Annual Book Sale was again a very successful community event and fund-raiser for the library.
First, our sincere thanks go to the loyal book sorters and pricers, who meet each week throughout the year, under the amazing leadership of Jan MacEwen and Jan Galletly, to organize and prepare the inventory for one of the most well-regarded book sales anywhere. To Bob and Carol Russell we say thank you for your steady attention to the silent auction. A special thank-you to Suzanne Flaim, our cashier recruitment chairperson.
We thank the staff of the library, especially Janet Crystal, Bob Correa, Jose Marquez, and Juan Carlos Olivares, who helped in more ways than can be listed here. Our thanks go to the many cashiers and volunteers, ABC scholars, Boy Scouts, honor society students, Our Lady of Fatima Confirmation students, the Village Market, the Wilton Rotary, Dunkin’ Donuts, Taylor Rental, to the many Wilton residents who allowed us to place lawn signs on their property, and to the hundreds of Wilton residents who came to the sale over the weekend. On May 9 the bins on Godfrey Place reopen, ready to take your “gently” used books.
Look for “books on sale” in July at Wilton’s Community Sidewalk Event and our fall book sale, Sept. 23-25.
