Letter: Holiday Stroll proves popular once again

To the Editors:

It was cold but clear so many people came to town to join in all the festivities during Wilton’s annual Holiday Stroll on Dec. 7, made possible by the Wilton Chamber of Commerce, the town of Wilton and the Kiwanis Club of Wilton. We thank, First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice and Sarah Gioffre for all their efforts, the Fire and Police Departments, Steve Pierce and the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Wilton Library, Nicholas Loafman and the Wilton High School Band, Girl Scouts of Wilton and the Wilton Kiwanis Club for presenting the bonfire and marshmallow roast.

In addition, we would like to thank all our wonderful Wilton businesses and merchants for staying open and sharing some holiday cheer, and thank you to our volunteers, Susan Goldman, Carol Johnson, Tom Sato, Patrick Russo, Jeannette Ross, Josh Cole, Kevin Vallerie and our great Santa, Mark Ketley, and his assistant Joan Ketley.

We began this year with a menorah lighting ceremony with Rabbi Bearman of Temple B’nai Chaim, thank-you to them and The Painted Cookie and Good Morning Wilton for their contributions of cookie coloring and latkes. We thank the Wilton Congregational Church, Wilton Swag and Outback Steak House for activities on the green.

We all share a lovely community and we thank all who visited, participated and volunteered. Please remember to support our town and stores and shop local!
