Letter: Historical society show and party were a great success
To the Editors:
On the weekend of Nov. 1, 2, and 3 the museum complex of the Wilton Historical Society was transformed into a festive backdrop for a Friday evening 75th Anniversary Gala and Preview Party, and the weekend American Artisan Show. Both events were a great success and well-attended.
The Wilton Historical Society would like to thank the 28 artisans who generously contributed beautiful pieces of their art to the silent auction on Friday evening, as well as Breitling, The Wilton Wine Shoppe, area restaurants, and local historian Bob Russell, who also contributed to the auction.
The success of the weekend event was made possible by the widespread local sponsorships and in-kind donations. We would like to acknowledge the major sponsors of the event, Morris Media Group, Bankwell, Breitling, Reckson Properties, and TD Bank.
We also need to thank the society’s board of trustees, museum staff, museum volunteers, museum collections committee, Director Leslie Nolan, President Greg Chann, and the American Artisan Show Steering Committee. Together they provided unwavering support both financially and physically, which allowed us to create this new venue for our annual show and celebrate our 75th anniversary in grand style.
Lastly, we would like to thank the citizens of Wilton and our surrounding community who joined us in celebration and in patronage over the weekend.
We have many more exciting upcoming events over the next few months. Please check out our website, wiltonhistorical.org, and join us!
