Letter: Democrats oppose school regionalization bill
To the Editors:
The Wilton Democratic Town Committee opposes proposed bill SB454, introduced by state Sen. Martin Looney (D-11) regarding regionalization of certain school districts. We thank all voices who have also opposed SB454. In particular, we thank Wilton’s Senator Will Haskell (D-26) for being the first senator to issue a written statement against the proposed bill. Senator Haskell has been clear in his opposition, and is an essential voice leading the growing, bipartisan response. We look forward to working with Senator Haskell and others (including Republicans and independents) to ensure the continued quality and local control of Wilton’s schools.
