GOP for Planning and Zoning

I strongly support Planning and Zoning Commission candidates Christopher Pagliaro, Sally Poundstone and Peter Shiue. As we have seen from the ongoing debate over development on Ridgefield Road, P&Z has an important role in shaping the future of our town, and making key regulatory decisions. Christopher is a licensed architect, while Peter, a commercial real estate expert and current P&Z member, brings extensive experience with smart land-use decisions. Sally is a current P&Z member who offers institutional knowledge along with strong leadership. These are well-qualified individuals who will bring the right skills to the table.

Hemmerle, Preston for education

The Wilton Public Schools have notched some significant achievements in recent months, including a top ranking in Niche.com’s assessment of school districts, and SAT scores that were among the highest of area high schools.  These accomplishments didn’t happen by accident.  Clearly, the vision and hard work of the current administration — under the direction of the Board of Education — are paying off. Which is why we need to re-elect Glenn Hemmerle and elect Andrea Preston to ensure we continue this upward trajectory. Glenn and Andrea have served the town well, and are the right people for the Board of Education.

Bufano and Cole for selectmen

Lori Bufano and Joshua Cole are what we need on the Board of Selectmen. Lori is a current member of the board and has distinguished herself as a forward-looking, experienced selectman. As the liaison between the board and the Economic Development Commission (EDC), Lori has supported the EDC’s initiatives to entice new developments. Josh currently serves as chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals, where he has proven himself as a reasoned and responsive leader. Together, Josh and Lori offer the commitment to fiscal responsibility, smart development and innovative leadership vital to moving Wilton forward.

Pagliaro, Shiue

I am writing in support of Chris Pagliaro and Peter Shiue, two highly qualified Planning and Zoning candidates.

Peter, a current P&Z member, has been involved with Wilton’s land-use boards for more than 10 years. He is an accomplished commercial real estate broker, who regularly deals with planning and zoning issues.

Chris is an established architect, with direct experience dealing with municipal planning issues. He is a longtime resident of Wilton who cares deeply about making sure we take the steps now for smart future growth.

P&Z needs the skills and experience Chris and Peter have to offer.

Fanwick for P&Z

Eric Fanwick is running for a position on the important Planning and Zoning Commission. His 15 years of experience on land-use boards (including five years on the Zoning Board of Appeals) means Eric can hit the ground running and give P&Z the professionalism and expertise it deserves. “Planning” is a key part of this commission, and we need someone like Mr. Fanwick to maintain a balance between our residential and commercial space.

Jeanes for Education

I’m proud to support Gretchen Jeanes for the Board of Education. Gretchen will bring professional experience in construction project management and consulting, as well as a wealth of volunteer experience in the PTA and our schools, including service on the Miller-Driscoll Building Committee. She is expert at applying industry “best practices” to immediate challenges. She appreciates that our teachers are our greatest asset and will give them the support they need. And she knows, as the parent of two children in the schools, the important and fundamental role parents can and should play in the process. Support Gretchen Jeanes for Board of Ed.
