Lynne Vanderslice, Republican,
Wilton has been my hometown for 28 years. It is a place where people come to raise their families and enjoy the wonderful quality of life. For over 20 years, I have worked with outstanding fellow volunteers at A Better Chance, The Wilton Playshop, the Wilton Library and other Wilton organizations.I know and appreciate all that Wilton has to offer.
My goal as first selectman will be to ensure Wilton remains affordable to all its current residents and desirable to all potential future residents. I will work collaboratively with the Board of Selectmen to minimize taxes and maintain our town’s quality of life.
Minimizing taxes will require a three-pronged approach: reducing costs through zero-based budgeting and shared services with the schools and neighboring towns, growing the tax base by encouraging housing alternatives and providing a business-friendly environment as appropriate and by managing our debt through thoughtful planning.
I will proactively work with residents through public-private partnerships to provide amenities residents require and work with seniors and empty nesters to ensure they can stay in Wilton.
Thanks to my career as a CPA, my leadership within the community and my seven years on the Board of Finance, I have the financial and management skills and the knowledge of our town to make this happen.
I have bipartisan support from those I have worked closely with over the last 20 years and I ask for your additional support on Nov 3. Learn more about me atlynnevanderslice.org.
