Candidate Statement: David Clune

David Clune, Unaffiliated,
Board of Selectmen

I am excited to run as an unaffiliated candidate for Wilton's Board of Selectmen and appreciate the support and encouragement I have received.
Growing up in Wilton, I was fortunate to attend the public schools, where the efforts of superb teachers turned me into a lifelong learner and I returned in 2003 to raise my own family.
Following graduation from Wilton High School in 1992, I attended Boston College and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in 1996, played varsity lacrosse and most importantly met my wife Robin, who works at Ambler Farm.
After BC, I joined Operation Smile, a nonprofit organization that provides free reconstructive surgery to children in developing countries as a Medical Mission Coordinator.
I then attended Fordham Law School and became an Assistant District Attorney for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. I then spent time with a private Connecticut-based law firm focused on criminal defense, corporate investigations and banking compliance.
For the past six years, I have been a Compliance and Ethics Officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and have continued my volunteer work in Wilton as a youth lacrosse coach and as a member of the Economic Development Commission.
I want to contribute to the process of shaping Wilton's future and will actively seek the input of our citizens, increase communication, support our public schools, and focus on economic development.
I ask that you support my candidacy by learning more at daveclune.org and voting on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
