Here we are in gorgeous New Canaan enjoying the summer days. It is a lovely town, but I am stunned at the utter ignorance of so many people hauling their dogs on the hot sidewalks and asphalt when the temperature is in the 90s. Even more distressing is spotting dogs locked in parked cars with a window slightly lowered.
Every vet office has seen dogs arriving with burnt paws. Our dogs can’t tell us as they are being dragged around on the hot pavement that they are in pain. I witnessed a beautiful black lab on a big prong choke collar that was clearly in distress as his owner did nothing.
