Letter to the editor: Too much on cannabis

Enough already! Though I understand that legalization of cannabis is important to Connecticut, I beg you to stop giving it so much ink. For the moment let us ignore the many articles you ran about this topic in the weeks before the law went into effect.

On both Tuesday (1/10) and Wednesday (1/11), your main headline — about cannabis in a half-inch of bold type, extended across the entire page. Among coverage Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday alone, the newspaper devoted over 546 inches of ink to this topic.

Really? Who cares who is selling this stuff, who is buying it, what kinds are available? I get that this can be an income source for the state but aren't there more important issues to cover for your readers? Our critical affordable housing issue, crime and political corruption come to mind.
