Green teams in place, students engaging in program in Wilton

The following is information from the Wilton Zero Waste Schools Committee about happenings in the schools regarding protecting the environment.

In 2016, Wilton Public Schools embarked on a journey to reduce waste in our schools through our Zero Waste Schools Initiative. In order to celebrate, and focus on our goals we host bi-annual Zero Waste Weeks in each of our schools. These events include challenges, and activities around our mission.

At Miller-Driscoll, and Cider Mill our Green Teams are in place, and our students in the cafeteria or science room at Cider Mill are engaging in our full program sorting their waste.

Watch our “How To” video that our students in those schools are watching. https://vimeo.com/610648661.

Our Middlebrook, and High School Green Teams started new this school year, and are working to engage more of our students and staff around our Zero Waste mission. Both schools are recycling with the goal of introducing the full program later this year.
