Robert A. J. Walker, a lifelong Boy Scout and former university dean, died quietly on Dec. 5 in Wilton. Mr. Walker was a recent transplant to Wilton with his wife of 25 years, Elisabeth Allen Walker.
Mr. Walker was born in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1928 to Fred and Joyse Walker from Yorkshire, England. He was active in the Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Life, as a Sea Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow. He was a Scout leader, adviser, committeeman, and sponsor and remained active in Pennsylvania and Maryland scouting. His interest in camping and the out-of-doors sparked a lifelong birding passion.
