William G. Moore, a former Wilton resident, died on July 6, 2017, at his home at Meadow Ridge, Redding, Conn. He was 95 years old. He was born on Sept. 2, 1921, in Madison, Wis., to Sylvester Moore and Anna Garrison Moore, and grew up in Danville, Ind.

After graduating from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind., he served in the U.S. Navy as an officer on a tanker in the South Pacific. Following the war he attended law school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he met and married Marjorie Moore, née Winski. He started law practice at Covington and Burling in Washington, D.C., and went on to serve with several large corporations, including ITT and United Technologies. Most recently he was a partner with Andlinger & Company in Stamford, Conn.

“He will be remembered for his impeccable honesty, his sense of humor, his storytelling, his love of other cultures, and his commitment to family and friends,” his family said.

He is survived by his three children, Jennifer Moore of Ghent, N.Y., Emily Moore of Haddam Neck, Conn., Bill Moore, of Middleton, Wis., and two grandchildren, Ian and Phoebe Moore.
