Obituary: Michele L. Louney, 71

Michele L. Louney, 71, of Wilton, died on Tuesday, Nov. 15, after a five-year illness, surrounded by loving family and friends.

She was born in Nashua, N.H., Sept. 27, 1945. She attended Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary High School in Nashua and was a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston, Mass..

She was a loving mother of three, grandmother of five and oldest of three brothers and a sister. She is survived by daughter Jennifer Louney of Stamford; son Kurt Louney of Wilton; and daughter Elizabeth Glazier of Harvard, Mass.; five grandchildren, Will Glazier, Katherine Moran, Ryan Glazier, Grace Glazier and James Louney. She is also survived by brothers and sister Elise Roy of Holyoke, Mass.; Victor Roy of Lyle, Wash.; Lauren Roy of Leadville, Colo.; and Don Roy of Acton, Mass. She leaves behind her dog and kayaking partner Charlie.

Louney was a 41-year resident of Wilton where she had many friends. She worked for Hearst Community Newspapers for 30 years as an advertising account executive, and was at her happiest at work on the road talking to the many people and businesses in Fairfield County.

She loved kayaking, sailing, lighthouses, walks on the beach and was an avid snow skier. She loved to travel to Chatham, Mass., and Gloucester, Mass., where she had many friends and family.

A celebratory mass will be held in her memory on Dec. 9 at 1 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 225 Danbury Road, in Wilton.
