Mary McKenna Engelskirger, born Feb. 26, 1943, a resident of Wilton, Conn., on and off since 1975, succumbed at Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, Conn., on July 3, 2017, from complications from a long series of illnesses. She fought these illnesses with the dignity, strength and spirit with which she lived her life.

Mary is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jack, her daughter, Marylynn Iorfino and son-in-law Domenico Iorfino of Fairfield, Conn., son, Michael Engelskirger and daughter-in-law Kelly Gent Engelskirger of San Antonio, Texas, grandchildren Caroline Iorfino and Olin Engelskirger, sisters Kathleen Pennington and Rose Woodruff of San Antonio, Texas, and multiple nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews..

Mary was born and raised in the Bronx, (a BIC and proud of it). She attended Saint Helena’s, Aquinas High School and Hunter College, worked for Union Carbide in New York, raised two children and had a career in real estate. Mary retired in 2000 due to illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Wilton, Conn., on Saturday, July 15, at 11. Reception to follow at her home at 129 Valeview Road, Wilton, Conn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mary’s name to Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, Conn., or the Wilton EMS, Wilton, Conn.
