Lauren McAdam Csordas, a resident of Wilton for the past 27 years, died peacefully on June 17, 2017, after a long illness. Lauren cherished life, and her family was the love of her life. She fought her illness with the dignity, strength, and spirit with which she lived her life.

Lauren is survived by her husband John and children David and Kristin, all of Wilton, for whom she was a loving wife and mother. They were the most important people in her life and she was happiest when spending time with them as well as with her extended family. Lauren is also survived by her sister Susan Schwadron and her children Matthew and Sarah of Middletown, N.Y., her brother Thomas McAdam, his wife Heather and their daughter Dylan of Bergenfield, N.J., and brother James McAdam of Akron, Ohio.

Lauren was raised in Bronxville, N.Y., the daughter of Robert and Doris McAdam who predeceased her. She graduated from Concordia College in Bronxville where she was an avid tennis player and fan. That passion for tennis continued through her years in Wilton where she enjoyed playing tennis with her children and husband. She adored Wilton and often walked its trails and roadways, but she particularly enjoyed hiking in Vermont where she vacationed many summers with the family. Lauren taught for 15 years at Friends Nursery School in Wilton where the teachers were good friends as well as co-workers and where she was rewarded daily by seeing the students she loved grow and develop under her guidance.

Services were private. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, gifts in Lauren’s memory be made to the Whittingham Cancer Center, Norwalk Hospital, 34 Maple Street, Norwalk, CT 06856 or Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, P.O. Box 489, Wilton, CT 06897.
