Mr. Arthur “Bruce” Dixon, 72, of Greenwich, Conn., and husband of Carol L. Dixon, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 in Stamford Hospital.

Bruce was born in Wilton, Conn., on June 9, 1943, and was the son of the late Arthur and Nellie (Thompson) Dixon. Bruce was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He worked in the Department of Public Works for the Town of Greenwich from 1978 to 2005. During his tenure as Traffic Operations Supervisor he was selected by the First Selectman of Greenwich and Commissioner of Public Works to act as liaison between the Town and the State of Connecticut on all State projects in Greenwich, including the reconstruction of the I-95 bridge following its collapse into the Mianus River. While with the Town, Bruce also served as President of the Greenwich Municipal Employees Association. In 1994 he became the Zoning Inspector for the Town of Greenwich; a position he retired from in 2015. He was a member of the Greenwich RTM. Bruce volunteered at Pacific House where he served dinner once a month and played Santa Claus every Christmas. He was a House Captain for AmeriCares HomeFront and he also helped in training the volunteers at Westport EMS.

In addition to his wife Carol, Bruce is survived by his step-daughter, Diana Pugliese; his sister, Dorothy Sullivan of Wilton; his brother-in-law, Bayden (Bud) Taylor and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Helen Taylor.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at 11 a.m., at the Second Congregational Church, 139 E. Putnam Ave., Greenwich, CT. Condolences for the Dixon family may be left online at .
