Melinda P. Conrad-Cooke, 78, of East Dennis, Mass., died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015.

She was born and raised in New York City to the late Dr. Thomas Jefferson and Blanton Parks. She attended The Brearley School, an all-girls private school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She was also a graduate of Bradford College and the Tobe-Coburn School for Fashion Careers in New York. Shortly after graduation, she became a buyer for Bloomingdale's at their flagship New York store.

Melinda lived in Wilton for 44 years where she was a Realtor and active in the local community. She was a member of the Wilton Riding Club, the Wilton Garden Club, president of the historical society and active in the Junior League.

Melinda retired to Dennis, Mass., in 2007. During her time on the Cape, she completed her credentials as a master gardener.

She is survived by her husband Nelson Cooke; her children John C. Conrad, Jr. of Sonoma, Calif., Melinda Conrad Jones of Sydney, Australia, and Amelia Dalgaard of Topanga, Calif.; her brothers Thomas J. Parks of San Jose, Calif., and Nicholas R. Parks of St. John's Island, Fla., and her five grandchildren. A service to celebrate Melinda’s life will be held on the Cape in June.
