Marion Carlson Mendick Reynolds died at Norwalk Hospital on April 24 at the age of 102.
She was born on Oct. 19, 1912, in Wilton, to Gustaf and Ida Carlson, the ninth of 10 siblings. She graduated from Norwalk High School and was married to Stanley Mendick on May 21, 1933. She and Stanley had three children, Joan Kanner (deceased), Barbara Stackpole (David) of Brevard, N.C. and Janet Auerbach (David) of Redding. Stanley died in 1965 and she married William Reynolds in 1968. Bill died in 1977 at their home in Port Charlotte, Fla. Marion Reynolds remained in Florida until 2008 when she relocated to Brevard, N.C. She moved to Wilton Meadows on Danbury Road in 2014.
In addition to her daughters, Barbara and Janet, she is survived by her stepsons Richard (Connie) Reynolds and Gerard (Kathy) Reynolds, all of Redding. She is also survived by many grand-, great-grand and great- great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
“She was a wonderful woman who will be remembered for her strength of spirit, tremendous love of family and friends as well as her terrific sense of humor,” her family said.
Burial will be private and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
