Marion VanNess Bradshaw Pearlstone, of Westport, died at home April 18. The daughter of the late Henry and Rose Bradshaw of Bronx, N.Y., Ms. Pearlstone attended Hunter High School and Hunter College in New York City. She married Arnold David Pearlstone, M.D. in 1956, after a successful career as the administrator of the Department of Radiology at Jacobi Hospital in New York City.
They moved to Fairfield in 1961 and then settled in Westport in 1963 where they raised four children. In 1980, she opened Oui Boutique in Norwalk and pursued a successful career in fashion, retiring in 1993.
In 1992, she and her husband founded an ophthalmology clinic in May Pen, Jamaica, serving the underprivileged of the island, supported by their own foundation, Eye Care for the Underprivileged.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, William Bradshaw; her sister, Carol Bradshaw; and her nephew, Philip Lentini. She is survived by her husband, Arnold Pearlstone; children, Nancy Pearlstone Anderson of Maitland, Fla., David Bradshaw Pearlstone of Easton, Leslie Pearlstone Shain of Wilton and Martha Pearlstone Borrero of Wilton; 11 grandchildren; and 12 nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet the family on Sunday, April 21, from 2 to 6, at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center. A funeral will be Monday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
