Joan (Degnan) Driscoll, 84 of Ridgefield, the wife of the late Francis X. Driscoll, died Sept. 15, 2012.

Ms. Driscoll was born in Forty Fort, Pa., Aug. 9, 1928, a daughter of the late Leo and Nan (Ryan) Degnan. She graduated from St. John's University and worked for the Department of Social Services in New York City.

In 1953, Joan and Francis were wed and lived in Huntington Station, N.Y. for 32 years before moving to Wilton in 1986 and Ridgefield in 1998.

She is survived by four sons, Francis X. (Pamela) Driscoll of Milford, Conn.; Robert P. (Cynthia) Driscoll of Hingham, Mass.; M. Leo (Nancy) Driscoll of Garden City, N.Y. and Justin L. (Suzanne) Driscoll of Westport, Conn; five daughters, Anne (Bruce) Danielson of South Bend, Ind.; Katherine (Peter) Jacullo of Ridgefield, Conn.; Celia (John) Fisher of Raleigh, N.C.; Mariclaire (James) Rourke of Oakton, Va.; and Megan (John) Kaste of Campbell Hall, N.Y.; son-in-law Michael Driscoll-Kelly of Avon, Conn.; two sisters, a brother, 33 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Joan Driscoll-Kelly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 10:15 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield. The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield on Monday, Sept. 17, from 4 to 8 p.m.
