Charles Victor Jones died peacefully at home on Nov. 9, 2012. He was born July 6, 1927 to Cecil and Alma Stewart Jones in Harlem, N.Y. He lived in Trumbull and was a former Wilton resident.

Mr. Jones attended Textile High School and then served in the United States Army. Upon completion of his service he attended Pace University where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Mr. Jones worked for the Amsterdam News, at an accounting firm as a CPA before he joined Xerox Corporation. He was a member of AICPA, Connecticut CPA, New York CPA; former treasurer and member of Wilton Rotary, Board of Human Services Council, and the Trumbull Republican Committee. He retired from Xerox as a financial executive after 25 years.

Mr. Jones leaves his current wife, Anita M.; daughter Victoria Smith (John) of Wallace, N.C.; three grandchildren, Anita, Victoria Eboni, and John; five great-grandchildren; four step-children, Ann, Simone, Clifford, and Barrett; eight step-grandchildren; cousins Zieda Blum (Samuel) of White Plains, N.Y., Nayda Mariette (Myron Kellogg) of Atlanta, Ga., and Charelle Mariette of Bronx, N.Y.;  and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Bertha; sister, Myrtle; son, Charles V. Jones, Jr.; and granddaughter, Elizabeth.

"Charles will always be remembered as the man who marched to a different drum beat — gentle, kind, and determined to do it his way even though God was in control," his family said. "He will be missed by all."

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 1, at the First Congregational Church on the Green, 3 Lewis Street, Norwalk. In lieu of flowers the family has requested a donation made to the American Cancer Society.
