Anna L. Meken, 93, of Danbury, mother of a Wiltonian and wife of the late Eugene G. Meken, Sr., died on Sunday, Oct. 18, at Hancock Hall.

Mrs. Meken was born in Danbury, July 26, 1922, a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Kundrat) Kosach.  She attended Danbury schools and Danbury High School. She was employed with the Neumann-Endler Company of Danbury until raising her family and especially enjoying the later years of her life spending her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

She was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Danbury.

Mrs Meken is survived by a son, Gene Meken and his wife, Toni of Wilton; two daughters, Maryann Meken-Silvestri and her husband, Al of Danbury and Jean “GiGi” Riley and her husband, Greg of Southbury; a sister, Sophia Tomasini of Danbury; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The rite of burial will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 10:30 a.m. in the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury with the Rev. Peter Karloutsos officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury on Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Trisagion prayer service will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
