The Planning and Zoning Commission resolved June 27 to allow an accessory dwelling at 39 Powder Horn Hill Road. On June 13, the commission heard from the applicant\u2019s attorney, Casey Healy with Gregory and Adams, who said the main residence on the two-plus-acre parcel was built in 1955, and that the detached, 426-square-foot cottage, which has one bedroom, a full bath and a kitchen, was constructed two years later. Healy explained that his client intends to use the cottage as an accessory dwelling unit. He said a new septic plan was developed for the cottage, and that the plan was submitted to and approved by the Health Department. On June 27, approval of the application was moved by Commissioner Rick Tomasetti and seconded by Secretary Doris Knapp, and the vote to approve was unanimous.
