Village District Design Advisory Committee expanding
The Wilton Planning and Zoning Commission announced June 26 it is looking for Wilton residents to serve on an expanded Village District Design Advisory Committee (VDDAC).
The committee reviews and advises the commission on the architecture and design of applications affecting properties in Wilton’s village districts, which include Wilton Center and Cannondale.
At least one member of the committee must be an architect, landscape architect or planner who is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, so some planning and design background may be preferred, but is not necessarily required for all members, a press release said.
Interested applicants should email a resume and a statement of background and interest to serve to town planner Bob Nerney at firstname.lastname@example.org. The number to call with questions is 203-563-0185.
Applications will be accepted until noon on Friday, July 13.
The commission anticipates conducting interviews with applicants in person or by phone at its 7 p.m. meeting on Thursday, July 19, with specific scheduling to be determined, Nerney said. Applicants should be prepared to discuss the Wilton Center and Cannondale villages and relevant regulations, including 29-6.C, 29-6.F, 29-9.J and Appendix C of the Wilton Zoning Regulations and Section 8-2j of the Connecticut General Statutes.
